In addition to these appointments, they also strongly suggest participating in a daily oral hygiene routine, which should involve:
• Brushing your teeth: If you brush your teeth for 2 minutes every morning and every night, you are on your way to a healthy oral cavity. Spend an equal amount of time brushing each quadrant of your mouth (about 30 seconds each), and make sure to thoroughly brush every tooth. By doing so, all of the food particles that have been left behind are washed away. If possible, use fluoride toothpaste.
• Flossing your teeth: You can floss your teeth once a day and still be on the right track toward a successful and healthy oral cavity. Use about 45 cm of floss and wrap the ends around each one of your pointer fingers. When you are ready, gently lower the floss between each tooth, freeing any access food particles that may be stuck. Make sure to clean each tooth, especially your back teeth, and use a clean section of floss between each tooth.
• Use mouthwash: Using a fluoride or plaque-killing mouthwash is a beneficial and successful way of nourishing and strengthening your oral cavity. Take a sip of the mouthwash and swish it around in your mouth for 30-40 seconds. When the time passes, spit the liquid back into the sink.
