Do you have dentures? If so, you may want to consider the use of denture adhesives!
Denture adhesives in Ridgefield, Washington, are beneficial products for dentures that tend to slip and slide around in the mouth. This product is generally a paste or powder that keeps the appliance in place, giving you the stable and reliable smile you deserve. However, the adhesives are only safe if you use them correctly. So, to help you take full advantage of denture adhesives, our Smiles Dental team is happy to provide the following instructions:
-Paste adhesive: When placing the adhesive onto the denture, please be sure not to put it close to the borders. Also, remember that if the product oozes, it’s best to only use a small amount. To properly place the adhesive on the upper jaw denture, apply three short strips to the appliance—two along the ridge area and one down the center. For the lower jaw, apply three short strips, or a series of small dots, in the center of the ridge area.
-Powder adhesive: This adhesive is a bit easier to use than the paste. All you need to do is sprinkle a thin layer of the adhesive throughout the tissue-bearing surface of the denture. Then, shake off the excess powder and put the appliance in your mouth.
Please remember that the adhesives are typically beneficial when you have fitted dentures that need a little more stability. If you have ill-fitted dentures, it’s best to get the appliance adjusted rather than trying to secure it in place with an adhesive.
